Student Coursework Resources & Recommendations

This Spring, the UNC Asheville Pre-health Advisory Committee in association with the Aspiring Healthcare Professionals (AHP) student group is hosting four pre-health group advising sessions. If you are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, please plan to attend one of these events. Our goal is to help students successfully navigate the admissions requirements for all healthcare disciplines. Group advising events will provide information on coursework, volunteer resources, application requirements, and letters of recommendation, etc. Please visit our Events and Opportunities page for information about the next advising session where you can get your pre-health questions answered.

If you missed the Pre-health advising sessions this semester, please take a look at this “Introduction to Pre-Health Professions Resources at UNC Asheville” presentation.

Hope to see you soon!

Resources for Student Coursework at UNC Asheville

The required preparatory coursework depends on the area of study and the school. The UNC Asheville Pre-Health Committee has used multiple sources to create a general outline of required courses for each professional school listed. Naturally, things change. Therefore, the student should research each program of interest in order to make sure that the minimum requirements are being met.

Use this Student Multi-Semester Plan template to start your individualized plan to complete the necessary undergraduate coursework for a competitive application. Instructions included at the top of the document will help you get started. Please make sure to share your plan with Dr. Maxwell <amaxwell@unc.edu> so she can help support your success!
